Annual Account Fee
For Airpoints™ members who have not flown on a paid Air New Zealand flight for 12 months, an annual account fee of NZ$30 will be charged (with exception of those registered as UK Residents who have no annual account fees). This fee will be discounted to NZ$20 if you choose not to receive posted statements To update your communication preferences, including opting out of postal statements, simply login to myairnz (your new-look personal homepage) and go to the Communication Options page under myProfile. Or, if you've not logged in before, register now.
Please Note: If we have previously received returned mail from the address noted on your Airpoints account and this address has not been updated you will not be sent an Annual Account Fee notification. In these instances the Annual Account Fee will be automatically deducted from your Airpoints account at your join date anniversary.
How to Avoid Paying the Annual Account Fee
To avoid paying the annual account fee, always provide your Airpoints membership number when booking an Air New Zealand flight, even on our Smart Saver fares. Although our lowest fares won't earn you Airpoints Dollars, they will exempt you from the annual account fee, and they will earn you Status Points. If you have flown on an Air New Zealand ticketed and operated flight in the last 6 months but forgot to give us your Airpoints details, you can use the Claim Missing Airpoints Dollars form to let us know. Just login to myairnz and go to Missing Airpoints Dollars under myPoints. Or, if you've not logged in before, register now.
